Yves Saint Laurent TOUCHE ECLAT Radiance Perfecting Pen in Shade 2 Luminous Ivory

I've been dipping my feet in the luxury beauty product category a bit more mainly out of sheer curiosity on what makes something so special to earn the price tag it does. I've found that the products vary in greatness just as the drugstore products and regular mainstream higher end category do. I will say that where foundation and concealer and face makeup in general is concerned I have discovered some real gems from the category- Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation being a prime example.

This YSL radiance perfecting pen has earned itself 4 1/2 stars on Sephoras website and goes for a whopping $42.00! I had heard whispers from all sides of the beauty world that this was the concealer to own. Curiosity got the best of me one evening as I scrolled through the site and it ended up in my basket.

The clickable pen is a great way to dispense the product without overdoing it and obviously that shiny gold packaging is a good perk too. Although the actual concealer is lightweight, comfortable on the skin, buildable and easily blended this isn't going to be one I keep at the forefront of my collection, grabbing for it over others like it. It does have brightening properties but it still just doesn't do a whole lot for my undereye or any other area of my face I'd like to brighten. The thing is I compare every concealer to my favorite Makeup Forever one and not one has come close to it in a while, not even this one. I set it with all sorts of powders including the much loved Laura Mercier one but didn't get the lasting results I would expect either. The good news is that it doesn't have any crazy flashback which is important for people like me who are in front of a camera almost daily.

If you're looking for a lightweight brightening concealer for a natural makeup look, I think this very much worth a try because it works many wonders. There are also plenty of concealers that trump it in many ways too, many of which I already own and plan to stick to. So all in all, this isn't a thumbs down from me at all, I just wasn't overly impressed especially for how much one of these costs.

Since trying this, I purchased a foundation of theirs that really ticks all of the boxes. In a GOOD way. Look out for a post on that soon. What else should I try from the brand? Leave me your recommendations below or email me with them: gittyktz@gmail.com

Have you given this concealer a try? If you have what did you think of it? If you haven't, do you want to?

Thanks so much for stopping by!
