My Living Room Re-Design Continued: The Entry Area

I think there should always be an entry way station of sorts when you walk into a house. One where you can drop off your keys or the mail before moving on to the rest of the house.

Our entry area took me some time to pull together like the rest of home decor did and I'm glad I took the time to think it through and select my pieces since it is exactly as I wanted it now.

I knew I wanted a mirrored piece that was a little less typical but that still had some storage space. I also wanted to procure a rather large mirror because it opens the room and brings the light to an otherwise darker corner. Morning outfit selfies were a good reason too..hehe. Once those two pieces were selected, it was pretty simple to do the rest. It is the first stop in the morning and in the afternoon when I walk in and out the door and it's also where I light my candles (jewish custom) for Shabbos each week. I placed a navy foot rug at the door and hung some light gray velour curtains in front of our large bay window and that was all that was needed to complete it. The top of the entry table/ storage vanity changes on a daily basis. The only thing that is always there is that silver tray, used mainly for mail and paperwork, and it was a really kind housewarming gift when we moved into this home. In the drawer, I like to keep extra candles, a box cutter for opening packages that arrive, packing tape for sealing packages that go out etc. In the lower section I store large photo albums, it is also where I stow the tray when my candles are there each week.

Here's where everything is from:

Entry Table/ Mirrored Storage Vanity: Joss & Main
Navy & Purple Mosaic Mirror: Pier 1
Silver Metallic Tray: Housewarming Gift
Mahogany Teakwood Candle: Bath & Body Works
Faith Eucalyptus Candle: Gift from my mom
Owl T Light Votive: Gift from my mom
Peacock Clock: Housewarming Gift from our friends Itta & Shragi. (I believe it was from Pier 1 or Pottery Barn)
Gray Velvet Curtains: West Elm
Navy Entryway Rug: Target

I really hope you enjoyed getting a peak at my living room re-design.
