Two Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks in Melted Fig, Melted Melon & Melted Frosting

Still on the hunt for my favorite high end liquid lipsticks here. You'll know that I've already discovered my top two from the drugstore/lower end category- the Rimmel Provocalips Kiss Proof Lip Colors and Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Liquid Lipsticks are so great. My criteria list is a bit hard to meet I guess because I have tried dozens and have yet to find something I truly want to hold on to and buy loads of colors in from the higher end side. This is what I look for in a good liquid lipstick- long wear time (duh!), comfortability, easy application, workable formulation and and of course none of that drying of the lips or settling into the fine lines. Although these two faced melted liquified long wear lipsticks (whew!) aren't your typical liquid lipsticks which usually come with a long doe foot applicator and are far less liquid like in consistency, I'd say they fall into that category in my mind anyways. So what do I like about these so much that I was compelled to pick out three? The stand out character is how lovely they feel on the lips while still having great staying power. Think of a lipstick accidentally left in the car on a hot summer day (haven't we all done this once or twice?) and what it looks like after, these are literally what a melted lipstick is like- thick but slightly liquid like and easy to move across the lips. Although I just own three at the moment, I know these aren't going to be your soft neutral nudes. Each and every one of these 15-20 shades available for $21 a tube, pack true, bold, vivid color every time. There are darker vampy shades for Autumn and Winter like Fig was for me and lighter and brighter shades like melon and frosting which I picked up recently for Spring and Summer. When first applied they are thick but liquid like and then they kind of set into the lips, losing some of that glossy shine and drying down without settling into fine lines or dehydrating the lips and patching off. I can drink my morning coffee, have my breakfast yogurt and eat my mid day snack bar without the color moving around a bit. They last on my lips for 6-12 hours most of the time and that is what I want in a liquid lipstick. If I had to award Two Faced with any one thing it would be for the cutest packaging- from the writing, to the bright tubes and those gold screw on and off caps, I love all of it.

The only real thing I don't adore about these is the dispensing factor. These are squeezed through a kind of sifting larger but short and stubbier looking sponge/doe foot applicator which could be intended to apply directly to the lips. Because the consistency is so soft it would actually be ridiculous to try and apply it that way, especially for me with the tiny lips I have. This means they have to be used with a brush or tool to get a nice even application. This could be a bit high maintenance for those used to pulling out a Mac bullet, pressing it onto the lips going from side to side and being all set to leave the house.

All in all, I am a big fan of these. I love the shine, comfortable wear and length of time I get out of them and I'd actually recommend trying one out if it sounds at all intriguing to you. They can be found at Sephora, Ulta and on the Two Faced Website as well.

Have you given these a try? If you have, did you have a good experience? If you haven't, would you want to give them a go?

Let me know in the comments form along with any recommendations from the line as well!
