With my thick, knotty, sometimes frizzy natural hair (I say natural because I mostly wear wigs as you may already know) it is very easy to understand why I purchased this Alterna Shampoo & Conditioner pair. If Anti Aging or Moisture didn't get me then the Intense Oil Creme part certainly did. I'm still a little unsure why they were given such long titles but oh well. These specific hair products are geared towards very dry, coarse hair, and are both free of sulfates and parabens which is always an excellent thing when it comes to treating your hair. The shampoo is low lather which is actually the only detail I would say I despised. When I'm scrubbing my scalp and my ends with a shampoo I really like for it to lather up and spread evenly throughout. This one kind of got stuck in sections and was then really hard to wash out. The conditioner on the other hand would have to be one of my all time favorites, it was easy to work with and really gave my hair a good amount of moisture, leaving it soft and a little easier to manage. It also annoyed me a little bit that the shampoo has more product in the bottle then the conditioner had which makes no sense. I ended up finishing the conditioner off first of course. These have twist off caps and I'm not completely sure if I prefer that over the typical flip back style but even so they were very difficult to dispense, especially as I began to finish them off. The scent was nothing exciting to me especially as I didn't find it lingering in my hair as other of my favorites do. I'd say these are good products but at $32.00 a piece I can't really imagine myself purchasing these again. Will I try other products in the line? Absolutely! I picked these up at Sephora, if you are interested in them at all.
Have you given these a try? If you have did you have a good experience? If you haven't, would you want to give them a go?
Let me know in the comments form along with any recommendations from the line as well!
