My Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate with Marshmallow Fluff Recipe

Each winter we are hit with at least one snowstorm that requires an hour of shoveling plus, so I always like to have a cup of something hot waiting when we come in from the cold.  I have offered up my share of hot chocolate recipes here over the years. From Orange Cinnamon Hot Chocolate to Mocha White Chocolate and Mint Cookies and Cream Hot Chocolate to name just a few! When we were hit with 2 feet of snow this past weekend I knew I would have to be really creative with my hot drink choice. Although I have never really been a huge fan of peanut butter, my boys really like it and so it was the star of the show here. I will admit, it tasted really great with just a hint of that peanut taste. If you really like peanut butter, feel free to add another tablespoon.

Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate with Marshmallow Fluff

Ingredients:

3 Cups Sweetened Vanilla Almond Milk or Regular Milk
8 Squares (about 8 Ounces) Baking Chocolate (Dark Chocolate)
1 Tablespoon Peanut Butter
Marshmallow Fluff and Extra Peanut Butter for Garnish

Method:

1. Heat milk in a medium saucepan or pot over low-medium heat.

2. Once milk is simmering slightly, break up the chocolate and add it to the pot. Add the peanut butter as well, and stir constantly until it all melts down and combines.

3. Using a knife with some peanut butter on it, smear some onto the sides of the inside of the glass for presentation sake, while the hot chocolate cools slightly . Then pour the hot chocolate into the glass and top with a dollop or two of marshmallow fluff. Add a straw and serve.

I really hope you will give my Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate recipe a try! Don't forget to leave me a comment below letting me know what it was like if you do! And feel free to tag me on Instagram or post your photo on my facebook page as well.

A Sephora Beauty Splurge

Two things occurred right around the same time and they are the core inspiration for this Sephora order. Number 1, I ran out of my favorite Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Shampoo and Conditioner which you will hear about in the near future in an Empties. The second was a Sephora discount code card that arrived shortly after in the mail which I just had to take advantage of. Oh there's a third thing, I was running low on my Japonesque brush cleaner at the time as well. This weeks Youtube video installment details every one of the items I've purchased, so go watch that here if you'd like or read till the end of the post where I will insert it as always.

Here is what I purchased:

Full Sized Items:

Samples:

You will hear more about these products in the upcoming weeks as I will be putting up individual reviews etc. I am weighing the pros and cons and deciding which items I cannot be without and which just may end up going right back where they came from. More on that, in a future post!

Sephora Cream Lip Stain in 01 Always Red, Review

You know what I despise about bold lipstick? Those bright shades can be so difficult to wear! They get everywhere. On your teeth, in your food, on the sides of your coffee cups, if you wear bright shades of color on your lips you know exactly what I'm talking about! And yes I've walked around all day with lipstick smeared on my cheek before being approached by a stranger at the bus stop. This is the reason I stick to the forgiving colors in the pink, nude and peach family. That is until recently. I will always be the girl in the nude lip, but when I want to go bold, I know just where to turn. One of the lip stains that has me seriously excited lately is this Sephora Cream Lip Stain in 01 Always Red.

Using the perfectly long and thin shaped doe foot applicator to coat your lips with this thick velvet like cream, you will find precision and simplicity with every touch. Once set, it is formulated to be matte in finish but surprisingly doesn't feel or act drying, you do have time to get it nice and even before it does though. You can also layer it up to get a very opaque look and even put it over a lip liner to even things out in ahead of time.

This specific shade is vibrant in color and does a great job of giving that whiter brighter smile illusion when worn. It stays put when drinking, eating and all throughout the day for me and is one of those that needs a lip scrub at the end of the day to be removed entirely. For $14 I think it is a total bargain, especially as it performs even better then my all time favorite Revlon Colorstay liquid lipsticks. I don't own any of the other shades but 14 choices are offered on the Sephora website and I'm thinking Coral Crush or Blackberry Sorbet will be next for me.

Beneath this lipstick I am wearing the Smashbox Always Sharp Lip Liner in "Ruby" in this picture. It was the perfect combination.

Have you given any of these lip stains a try? If you have, what did you think of them? If you haven't do you want to?

Let me know in the comments form, along with any other opinions you may have, I love hearing from readers!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

My Black Bean Burgers with Meunster and Russian Dressing Recipe

New year, new you. Healthy food is where everyone suddenly turns as soon as those 365 days finish. I am so with you on that, especially as I am currently flying back from an over indulgent vacation with an abundance of good food all around.  Meals like these tasty Black Bean Burgers with Meunster and Russian Dressing are where it's at. Try my recipe and you will agree! The first thing I thought when I took my first bite- these taste like real burgers, beef burgers that is. On the side, I served some really great sweet potato fries with a lime chili sauce. Make it even more healthy by serving it on portabello mushroom caps or even bun-less. Another way to cut down on the calories with this one is to bake the patties instead of frying them as recommended below.

Black Bean Burgers with Meunster and Russian Dressing

Ingredients:

1 15 oz. Can Black Beans
1 Cup Panko
1/4 Cup Grated Shallot
1 Egg
Salt and Pepper to taste
1 Tsp. Chili Powder
1 Tsp. Mesquite BBQ Seasoning
5 Tablespoons Olive Oil
4 Slices Orange Rind Muenster Cheese
Burger Buns
Romaine Lettuce- (pieces) and Sliced Tomatoes
Russian Dressing (bottled)

Method:

1. Drain the can of black beans, place them in a medium sized bowl and mash them with a large fork. Add the panko, grated shallot, egg, salt, pepper, chili powder and bbq seasoning.

2. Divide the bean mixture and form into equal patties. Keep in mind that bean burgers do not shrink down at all once cooked like beef does, so however large they are when you cook them is how they will be when they are finished.

3. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat and add the patties two at a time. Cook until browned and more solid for about 2-3 minutes on each side. When you flip the first time add the meunster cheese to the top of the patty and let it melt over the sides before removing it to the bottom half of the bun.

4. Top the patty with tomato, lettuce and russian dressing before closing with the top half of the bun.

5. Serve cold or warm.

I really hope you will give my Black Bean Burgers recipe a try! Don't forget to leave me a comment below letting me know what it was like if you do! And feel free to tag me on Instagram or post your photo on my facebook page as well.

My Current Skin Care Routine (Video)

I've been promising an updated Skin Care Routine video/post for a long while now. It is definitely necessary too as there are many new products that have been introduced to the medicine cabinet since my last skin care routine post. I've included a video sharing a quick demo of me using each product, explaining a little bit about what I love and how I use them. Go watch that here, to find out more!

I have combination/normal skin that gets oily or dry on occasion and brings up some spots from time to time but mostly just stays even and decent. Since beginning to use these products I have noticed clear benefits and positive changes to my skin texture etc. so if you have a similar skin type these may just be worth a try. Many are sample sized and will be purchased in full size once I run out as I feel they are a necessity. There are also some items I use just for the night time or just in the day time as treatments so I will discuss those further in the future. Here is what made my list:

Happy New Year 2016 & A Casual Warm Winter Outfit of The Day

Happy New Year! It's been a really fabulous one for me and I hope 2015 was great for you too! The highlight of my year was certainly the birth of my second son who is literally one of the best things to ever occur in my life, obviously!

If you've been keeping up with my latest youtube videos (if you haven't, you should be!) you will have seen me talk about this army green button down jacket I've been getting to wear a lot lately. You would have also gotten a peak at the sweater headband and necklace as well, as most of what I am wearing in these pictures are items I've purchased recently.

This is my typical day to day attire and I thought since it may have been hard to see each and every piece in that video, it would be best to share some outfit of the days with them on.

Necklace & Jacket- Forever 21
Sweater Headband- Calvin Klein from Lord and Taylor
White T shirt- Double Header
Bag- Rebecca Minkoff MAB
Glitter Sneakers- Target
Leggings- H&M

I went for a reversed smokey eye look and pink nude lip to keep things simple and balanced. On my nails is a new Butter London white-pink shade I am testing but you will hear about that in my upcoming Sephora haul video.

Thanks for stopping in!

Have a wonderful Shabbos and weekend!
