Long lasting lip products are the only kind I go for on a night out, for a special occasion or in preparation of a holiday. I've been turning to the revlon color stay ultimate liquid lipsticks for this kind of lasting power for years now. The only issue I actually run into with those is the shade range. I now own every single one of them and still feel I am missing out on some colors. This is the main reason I purchased this Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick.
I chose the shade "Dolce" amongst 33 others to pick through on the Ulta website as it was described as a muted coral which sounded like a good summery shade at the time. Once on my lips I feel it took on a browner tone and wasn't quite the coral I was hoping for.
What is promised in pigmentation is what is delivered with these! With one swipe you've got intense opaque color. They are a true matte formulation and aren't as drying as other liquid lipsticks are but actually quite comfortable on the lips. The applicator wand is long enough for precise application with a perfectly shaped tip to get into every nook and cranny of the lips evenly.
The wear time was the thing that changed the whole deal for me because it just didn't stay on my lips as well as my favorite revlon ones from the drugstore do. It slowly wore down over 4-5 hours and then disappeared completely. It did leave that weird lined rim along the edges as many liquid lipsticks do once it wore down as well. It didn't transfer onto my cups or food etc. as it wore off which is fine but I was hoping for 8-10 hours wear time so for that reason I was not smitten by this product.
I feel that $20 is very reasonable for a long wear lipstick from a high quality brand such as this one. I would probably still give some of the other shades a chance to see if the wear time varies from color to color. Liquid lipsticks that are comfortable and don't immediately suck all moisture out of your lips are actually not easy to find so if you aren't specifically looking for long wear and do not mind re-applying after a few hours then this lipstick will likely be a good one for you.
Have you given any of these liquid lipsticks a try? What did you think of them if you have? Let me know in the comments form if you'd like, I absolutely love hearing from you!
Thanks so much for stopping in!
