What I Wore to My Grandparents 60th Wedding Anniversary OOTD

I'm so thrilled that I was able to fly to Canada for the day to celebrate my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. That day was a long one! I got up some time around 5 and quickly applied some eye makeup and then quietly exited the house where my taxi waited to take me directly to the airport. International flights mean customs and security and a lot of time so it's recommended that you be there 2 hours in advance. It was quite the adventure as I have always had someone with me when maneuvering through the airport and this was my first time doing it all alone. The flight was short and uneventful. When we got to the airport I touched up my hair and took off my leggings and sneakers I was in for flying then applied a little face makeup in the airport bathroom mirror. My dad was waiting outside the airport when I got there and it was very nice to see a familiar face. We drove to where my family was staying and I added the final touches to my makeup before heading off to the anniversary party in the park. Family from all over the world had flown in to celebrate and it was so incredible to see some I hadn't seen in years. Because my trip was booked a bit last minute due to some changes in arrangement with my kids back home, I didn't tell anyone I would be there and it was a great surprise when I showed up. My older sister Rae- known as Doppelgänger wigs prepared a gorgeous book full of pictures and letters from family and friends and it was beautiful to watch my grandparents read through it, that was probably my favorite part as well.

It was an amazing day! I loved every minute. When the party was over, my dad and younger sister Chanie drove me back to the airport where I boarded my second flight for the day. I watched the sun rise that morning on my way to the airport and I got to see the sun set as my plane landed. I was glad to be back home too to be reunited with my boys.

A few days before the party I ran into Forever 21 to make a return and came across this mauve midi dress. I knew even before entering the fitting room that it was coming home with me along with several other great pieces for fall that I'll have to talk about in a future haul. I love how it fits me! It was comfortable to fly in and had the perfect length sleeve. Lightweight and comfortable, it was just the thing to wear. I paired it with my favorite open toe target flats, a nude shell and my new aldo sunglasses along with a new leather jacket which I will be talking about a whole lot in the future!

This is a great transitional piece both in material and color going from Summer to fall now that we are in September! I'm excited to find other great ways to wear it.

Let me know what you think of this look! I love hearing your opinions on style and everything else!

Have a great weekend!

Thanks so much for stopping in!
