Rimmel Provocalips 16 Hour Kiss Proof Lip Color Review

I've discovered it! The longest wearing lipstick I have ever worn. I have a massive collection of lip stains, liquid lipsticks and many a matte lip product that promises to stick around for hours. Yes I've encountered some that stay put decently, but this is the first of them to do so comfortably! There is no crumbling, settling, peeling or that bothersome slow withering of the lips that's most common with matte lip products. Dare I say these have taken the place of my all time loves, the Revlon Ultimate Liquid lipsticks? I think they may have.

It all started with the deep mauve purple shade called Kiss Fatal. I picked it up it on a whim after hearing of it's lasting abilities. It has amazed me over and over again since the very first application.
It does help that the shade is beautiful on my skin tone.

Soon after finding that treasure I picked out two more colors to try and they didn't fail to impress. Do I feel the need to own every one of the 9 shades available now? Yes, I do. At just around $7.99 at the drugstore, I won't be doing my pocket too much disservice.

Here is what they are like:

On one end you have a matte lip shade and on the other a clear topcoat to lock in the color, moisture and add a bit of shine. The way they are best applied is by coating the lips with the side labeled step one. Although the recommended wait time is a minute, I would say wait 3-4 minutes and then apply step 2.

The colors are super vibrant and opaque immediately and also creamy and smooth to apply with a great slim doe foot style applicator to keep things neat and precise.

When they said "kiss proof" they meant it! These are completely and 100% transfer proof! They don't end up on my teeth or smeared across my face half way through the day and they don't even leave a mark on my glass or spoon when I eat and drink! What I love most of all is that I feel like I'm not wearing anything on my lips at all, that is how comfortable and lightweight these are on the lips.

The only real downside I can think of in regards to other peoples preference is that long lasting power. These could easily last on me 48 hours without needing to be topped off whatsoever and for some that could become a nuisance. I only really wear these on a day or evening of a special occasion where I know I want an effortless lip that won't need reapplication. They are also my go-to choice for Shabbos and Yom Tov when I need them to stay put. An exfoliating cotton pad with an oil based makeup remover or even just straight up olive oil is what I use to remove the color when I'm ready to.
