Revlon says this concealer is supposed to give a "flawless, airbrushed appearance in any light"
I hadn't tried a new concealer in a while when I picked this one up a few months ago. I didn't need to, I had found one I liked more then any others I'd tried (Maybelline Fit Me Concealer) and so I was set. You know what they say, if it isn't broken don't fix it...
So I'll be very honest and say I don't really know what I was thinking when I bought this, it was one of those impulse purchases thats for certain. I've been using this one on and off ever since I purchased it and I have to admit it's not at all as good as I was expecting it to be, I just wasn't blown away by it. It seems that I put Revlon on a really high pedestal with their very solid line of lip products and amazing colorstay foundation. I'm not saying I despise this product, I will continue to use it until it's finished, it just isn't my ideal concealer to be using every day.
Find out more about what thoughts are on this concealer, here are some more details:
Coverage: It has a light - medium coverage so it covers basic spots alright but it won't cover serious blemishes or dark spots.
Formulation: The formulation is very creamy so it blends into the skin very easily but it doesn't set up well without a nice dusting of setting powder over top of it. It also seems to settle into fine lines a bit since the consistency is thicker then that of a lightweight liquid concealer.
Photographs well? It looks fantastic in photographs. It looks good as a spot concealer and under my eyes as well.
Skin Types it would suit: I think this would be an excellent concealer for those with oily skin because it's thick in consistency. I don't believe it'll work well for people with very dry skin though.
Color Variations: It seems that there are only 6 shades available in this line and although there are both light, dark and medium shades I don't think there is one to suit every individual. The shade Fair does work nicely for me and also does a good job of brightening under my eyes but isn't quite at highlighting as my favorite Maybelline one.
Lasting Power: This concealer lasts me about 4-6 hours at the very most before needing to be touched up even with the use of a setting powder. That isn't even a work day for most people and so it's not very impressive in that aspect.
Packaging: I do like the convenient lipstick like twist up tube this product comes in.
Price: $9.99 is a bit much for a drugstore concealer but also quite decent in comparison to some of my higher end favorites.
Overall: You've probably already guessed that this isn't a concealer I am crazy about. The packaging is decent, the price is do-able and it looks awesome in photos but the lasting power, formulation and coverage just don't cut it for me. I will continue to use this concealer until it's finished but I don't necessarily see myself repurchasing this in the near future.
