Todays nail of the day post is one of the shades I grabbed during my most recent trip to my local nail supply store. Essie's For The Twill of It is a multi chrome shade shifter with metallic properties that goes from glittery green to purple and grey which is why it caught my eye in the first place. It seemed like it would be one of those perfectly sophisticated fall shades and it is! In fact it's been all I've worn on my nails for the past month or so, yes I like it that much!
If you've been reading my blog for any length of time, you will know that I often favor Essie nail polishes and that although I'm pretty terrible at self manicures with my "two left hands", I hoard nail polishes like nobody else. As if I don't have enough polishes, I'm already eyeing 3 more colors from this latest Fall Essie collection.
I've found that the OPI polishes last on the nails the longest, the Sinful Colors stained my nails badly and the Covergirl ones although extremely beautiful didn't paint on very easily. Amongst many others, I've also tried Revlon and China Glaze but either way I always end up back to Essie somehow. The higher end polishes are tempting me as well lately. I would love to buy some from Chanel, Estee Lauder and Butter London to name a few although a part of me says they won't be any better then any of the ones I already own no matter how hefty the price tag.
Now that the weather is growing colder I'm excited to get back to the darker nail shades and this is going to be one I frequent alot. Does it not just scream boots, scarves and falling leaves? The formulation is simply perfection. With one coat you've got an opaque streak free layer of color and it dries speedily so it's quick and easy to use. I like the brush on it but I have noticed that I need to wipe it off on the side before going to put a coat down since it comes out of the bottle with far too much product. It also chips fairly quickly lasting about 24 hours at the most which isn't great at all but doesn't bother me much since I'm used to doing touch ups anyways.
I'm pretty sure this is not only one of the best polishes I've tried from Essie EVER but also the coolest one in my collection at the moment. It reminds me so much of my favorite duo chrome purple and green shade from the Wet N Wild Comfort Zone Eye Shadow Palette which I haven't stopped talking about lately.
It was almost impossible to photograph this nail polish since it comes out looking completely grey if it's not in a specific lighting, I assure you that whether the photographs are doing it justice or not, this color is absolutely gorgeous in person!
Have you picked up any shades from the Essie Fall Collection: For The Twill of It as of yet? If you have, which is your favorite? Please feel free to leave your nail polish recommendations and any other remarks in the comments form below, I absolutely love hearing from you!
