Whats in My Makeup Bag: Fall Edition

Call me nosy but I love discovering the contents of other womens makeup bags which is why I thought it might be about time I share mine. This blog post is in collaboration with Arianna from the CuttingEdgeBeauty Blog. She does some really fantastic product reviews over there so go check her blog out when you have a chance, you will love her super informative posts and you'll get to see what she's keeping in her makeup bag lately as well!

When a product claims it's place in the limited space that is my makeup bag, it usually means it's a good one. At the start of fall I am often still using my tinted moisturizers and bb creams from summer. I pull out my bold lipstick favorites and my smokey eyes get some warm browns, golds, purples and greens thrown in.

The Bag:  It's a black bag planner style bag by Murval with quilted detailing. The two zip pockets inside offer just enough space for my daily makeup basics and there is also 5 slots for makeup brushes so it makes a great on the go bag as well. I haven't included any brushes here so go read about my makeup brush essentials in this post where I detailed each of the brushes I use daily. Here is what I have stashed in my daily makeup bag for Fall:

I regularly start my makeup application with my eyes since I frequently do heavier eye looks that have plenty of fall down which requires some clean up prior to applying any face makeup.

Ever since the start of Fall I have been crazy over my newest eye shadow palette find which is the Wet N Wild Comfort Zone Palette. It does have alot of fallout due to the powdery consistency of it's shadows but the colors are so gorgeous and they last on my lids all day. I like to apply a cream shadow base to my eyes to ensure lasting power and Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeshadow Stick in Bulletproof Beige is the perfect thing. It's a very smooth blend-able cream eye shadow and the fact that it's in a stick makes it that much easier to use. The champagne gold color is great for keeping looks neutral or as a base for heavier eye looks too and it does really help my eyeshadows stay put.

I then go in with an eyeliner and some mascara and that's where the Loreal Extra Intense Pencil Eyeliner and Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara come in to create very, black thick looking lashes that stay looking that way throughout the day.

Between applying my eye makeup and face makeup I nearly always remember to coat my lips with some of my Nivea Milk & Honey Soothing Lip Care to get them prepared for lipstick.

The star of my face makeup routine of late has been the Stila Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free SPF 20 in Light. This is one of the best tinted moisturizers I have ever tried! I just need a dot of the product for my entire face and it evens out my skin tone completely. I like to then go in with a brightening concealer and Maybellines Instant Age Rewind Treatment Concealer, Fair 10 is what I'm reaching for lately. It's creamy and smooth and it instantly removes any darkness under my eyes. To contour and bronze I love Wet N Wilds Color Icon Bronzer in Bikini Contest, it gives me a golden glow without being too over the top. For every day looks I usually skip blush and go straight to highlighting with my The Balm Mary Lou Manizer Highlighter, I feel like my skin appears softer with the beautiful glow it gives me. To set it all in place my Makeup Forever HD Microfinish Powder comes in handy. Focusing on my under eye area and my t-zone where I tend to get oily during the day I use a fluffy powder brush to apply this very finely milled powder. I only use this when I don't plan to be on camera though since it leaves a white cast which is picked up in photography.

The newest addition to my makeup bag has been the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in the clear version which I've been using to set my eyebrows in place. My eyebrows are naturally thicker and defined so there's no need to go in with a brow pencil on a daily basic.

I finish off my look with some lipstick. When my eye look is more bold and smokey I choose a nude choice combining Wet N Wild Mega Last Lipstick 903C Just Peachy with NYX's Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Smokey Look. Occasionally I apply a lipstick like the Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Fig which is a red toned purple shade that is smooth on the lips and perfectly bright for the less exciting eye makeup look days.
