Fall Collective Beauty Haul

It's been crazy around here. Although we didn't have to do a complete gut job to the new house there has been lots of time consuming purchasing and decision making to get it ready quickly so we can move in as soon as possible. I've also been packing up our belongings that have piled up in our tiny apartment over the past 5 years which been no small feat. Between all that there is holiday after holiday this month from Rosh Hashana to Yom Kippur and now just a few days away is Sukkos. All of this has left me with very little time for blogging and completely and utterly exhausted. Although I am enjoying every minute of what September has been I can't wait to settle into a routine again and get back to normal with my blogging schedule as well.

Even amongst the insanity all around me I have managed to do some fall shopping which included some fun fashion buys and of course new beauty items. With the change of seasons I always feel the need to do a little bit of shopping and get prepared. In this weeks Youtube video I talked about the new beauty items I purchased including a brief first impression of each of them as well. Watch it here if you'd like or read till the end of the post where I will insert it as usual. This time it is a collective haul since these are items I picked up over a few weeks ranging from drugstore to high end and there is something from every category- hair, nail polish and makeup of course! I tend to do one of these really big shopping trips once every season or so. Here is what I've purchased from the beauty department with the arrival of fall:

Aveeno Nourish + Dandruff Control Shampoo: I always finish off the summer with a dry scalp for some reason so this is going to be the perfect replacement for the garnier pure clean shampoo I bought in the last haul and am nearing the end of.

Urban Decay De-slick Making Setting Spray- Although this was a little pricey I know that a bottle like this lasts me a while from using this spray in the past. I find that it's good at setting my makeup in place and keeping me matte and oil free in the t-zone area for hours.

The Beauty Blender- I'm not crazy about this as of yet. I know so many people love this tool for applying foundation but as of now I haven't noticed anything spectacular about it yet in comparison to my real techniques buffing brush.

Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Pallettes in "Comfort Zone" and "Blue Had Me at Hello"- These eyeshadows are go on so smoothly and have nice color payoff too so for $4.99, 8 shadows is a real

Covergirl Lashblast Clump Crusher Mascara in Black Brown- I love the original orange tube version of this mascara but this one didn't wow me since it seems to have a pretty natural effect on my lashes.

Mac Eyeshadow "Woodwinked"- I have been filling my neutrals pallette lately and this is one I've been eyeing for a while. I love the orange undertones this gold shadow has and I have been pairing it with a blue eyeliner which contrasts really well!

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Clear- I've been using this to set my brows in place and I think it does an ok job of keeping my unruly brows from moving around all day.

Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal Eyeshadow "Inked in Pink"- These cream shadows are beautiful worn alone or with a powder over the top of them. I have a large collection of cream shadows already since I find them quick and easy to work with but this kind of metallic pink is not like anything I already own.

Wet N Wild Coverall Pressed Powder- I've now finished both my Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder and my Smashbox Yellow Correcting Powder so I thought a powder for $2.99 would be a good buy. It is a bit powdery so I won't be able to use it in the winter when my skin is more dry but as we are heading into fall my t-zone is still oily and it does a decent job of keeping shine at bay.

Wet N Wild Lipsticks: "Mauve Outa Here" & "Pinkerbell"- These are fantastic lipsticks. I purchased 2 more colors after seeing how much I've loved the peachy shade I purchased previously. They slide on easily and last for hours but they do dry out my lips so I make sure to use a lip balm before wearing them. I chose some bolder shades that would work for fall and winter this time.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balmstain "Darling" I had to get another one of these after wearing the coral version of these constantly throughout summer. It feels weightless on but stays put nicely and smells minty. I find the purple tones just purple enough to be something fresh but still wearable.

NYX Megashine Lipgloss in "Smokey Look"- I was so excited to see Target had started stocking NYX which was short lived since most of that shelf was almost empty in my local store. This was the one thing I found that I was actually interested in and although it's almost totally nude on my lips I know it's going to be the perfect gloss for those bold eye days.

Mac Zoom Lash Mascara- While paying at the mac counter the mac saleswomen was really sweet and threw in a sample of one of their mascaras. I'm not sure if it's one of their newer releases or not. Although I haven't had a good experience with their mascaras in the past I like this one so much. The cone shaped brush really combs through my lashes efficiently giving them alot of length.

Revlon Colorstay 140 "Fall Mood" Nail Polish- I love opi golden eye which is a yellow toned gold nail polish that is beautiful for fall and winter. This caught my eye and when I saw the name I was sold! It's more of an orange-bronze color then the OPI one.  It doesn't dry as fast as I would like but it does on go on pretty smoothly and lasts alright.

Sinful Colors "Savage" and "Dream on" Nail Polishes- I saw these on a stand at shoprite for $1.99 and after scanning the amazing selection of  neon colors I chose two to take home both of which are nothing like any of the ones in my collection. These are super matte nail polishes that need just one coat and dry in seconds.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Treatment Concealer 10 "Fair"- I replaced my most recently finished "fit me" concealer with this one which highlights and conceals well. I'm not thrilled with the applicator since it's an easy source of bacteria but no question it performs well.

I hope to do some makeup tutorials using items featured here pretty shortly. Also, look out for full reviews on these items once I've used them more and have had a chance to formulate a true opinion of them. My favorite of all the things I purchased here is definitely the Comfort Zone pallette from wet n wild, something I want to play around with more and get the feel of is the beauty blender and the Mac Mascara was definitely a pleasant surprise. The covergirl mascara is the only thing I've been a little disapointed with so far. What have you purchased from the beauty department recently? Anything specifically for the fall season? Let me know in the comments form below, I would love to hear from you!
