Wet N Wild Color Icon Bronzer SPF 15 in Bikini Contest Review

Wet N Wild Color Icon Bronzer SPF 15 Bikini Contest 0.46 oz.13 g, $3.99

I have always loved the wet n wild eyeshadow trios. They are quite high quality, low in price and very pigmented. The last time I was at the stand I noticed this bronzer and being at the very end of some of my favorites- Nars Laguna and Smashbox Contour Kit to name a few, I decided it wouldn't hurt to shell out a few dollars for this one. It was introduced  as a part of their "Color Icon" line last Spring along with two other shades- "Ticket to Brazil" and "Reserve Your Cabana". This one is the middle color with those both being several shades darker and lighter. I have been wearing it very often since purchasing it and I'm glad I did since I like it alot.

What "Wet N Wild" has to say about it: "Add a golden glow and a touch of luminosity to any complexion for a healthy sun kissed look. Special blend of treated nylon powders provide long lasting, blend-able color."

Continue reading to learn more about my experience with this product:

Texture: It has a soft, finely milled texture that applies evenly and smoothly. It's very easy to blend out too.

Color: This bronzer is a medium-dark orange toned tan shade with a soft, champagne shimmer-sheen finish. As the product is blended in to the skin and buffed out, the shimmer becomes more refined and the glow becomes more natural looking. Although there are some orange tones, it adds alot of warmth to the skin and isn't too frosted. It doesn't emphasize pores or the skins natural texture either and is very pigmented with just one swipe so a light hand is needed for applying. I like to use a large powder brush and dust it over my entire face for a bronzed look. It does an alright job at contouring too.

Packaging and Travel Friendly? The packaging is definitely a little cheep looking but for the few dollars it costs it's really to be expected. Although it snaps shut securely and isn't too crumbly I would choose other bronzers to travel with over this one as it's quite large and would take up alot of much needed space.

Price: I think $3.99 is a bargain for a bronzer of this size and quality.

Photo Friendly: I feel like it looks nice in photos if it is blended into the skin properly.

Recommended Skin Type and Tones:  It is definitely a bit too orange for very pale or cool skin tones but with using a light hand and blending well I can definitely make it work. It would probably be best for medium to tan skin tones though. As for skin types I would say it can work well for any.

Scent: I haven't noticed one at all.

Lasting Power: I was impressed with the long lasting qualities of this one. I've applied it in the morning and seen it last a good 8 hours easily which is fantastic! It fades slowly as it begins to wear off without going all blotchy in spots so thats nice too. As for how long the product will last, there is .46 oz which is huge and with using it for weeks I haven't even made a dent so I assume it will be around for a while.

Shade Variety: As this is one of just 3 powders available for this line one of which is a highlighter I think that enough to choose from. It would be nice if there was some more of those imbetween shades to suit all skin tones.

The Round Up:

Pros:

SPF 15- I like that it has some sun protection to it which is rare with powder products.

The texture is really easy to work with.

The price is very decent.

It lasts on my skin for 8 hours without needing to be touched up at all.

The amount of product in this compact is just insane compared to other bronzers and will most likely last me ages.

Cons:

The color is a bit orange and there is only one more bronze shade to choose from in this line of 3. I don't think this specific shade would work on every skin tone.

The pigmentation is very intense so it needs to be brushed off a bit before placing it straight onto the skin.

It's not super travel friendly since it's a bit large.

The Swatch

Overall:

I think this is a pretty great bronzer especially for it's price. It lasts long and has great color payoff too. I don't see myself repurchasing in the future since it won't run out any time soon and when it does I would choose to go for the darker shade anyways.
