My greatest apologies for the lack of blog posts lately! I don't know why I always think I will be able to post almost every day over the holiday. I had a stupendous time with my family in Miami and then back in freezing cold New York for the second half but I really did miss my blog- posting, socializing with you all and answering your comments etc. I am back now and happy to be! Anyways, I was pulling out some of my favorite beauty items for my end of the winter months beauty favorites post and I realized that most of these items have been very recently discovered even just as of the beginning of the month of March. I usually only do seasonal favorites, but with my new YouTube channel and a bunch of great goodies to share from the month I decided to start doing monthly favorites. I don't always have new items to share though so we'll see how it goes. I put up the video discussing each of these items at length at the start of this week, so if you are interested in learning more about any of them that is where you will want to go. Therefore, I'll just give a basic rundown here of what each item does and what I love so much about it. I will also link each item with my review or with where it can be purchased. I always find favorites posts and videos pretty helpful in my own beauty shopping because when you trust someones opinion when it comes to beauty products it's interesting to see some of the things they have found to really work for them and others that didn't at all perhaps and you can save money that way too!
Here are some of the things I have been loving for Winter and this past month especially in the beauty category:
Mac So Chaud Matte Lipstick-This is a matte orangey- red lipstick that I have not stopped wearing since the day I picked it up as part of the recycling program that Mac has. It is the perfect lipstick for a day when my eye look is more natural and I want a pop of color on the lips. It really was my favorite statement lipstick from this winter in general.
Maybelline Color Sensational "Barely There 205" Lipstick- Another fantastic lipstick, but this one is on the other side of the color spectrum and is in the brown-nude color range. This is one of those easy to throw on lipsticks for a day when there's no time or when I am wearing a particularly heavy eye look.
Revlon Colorstay Whipped Cream Foundation- I have worn it very often since I purchased it. I really like that it is full coverage with a nice almost matte finish to it that has not irritated my skin and looks great in photos.
LORAC Blush in "Soul"- This has been one of my favorite blushes of all time ever since purchasing the close up kit from LORAC. I love the nice color it gives to my cheeks without giving them that overly red look, it also is extremely pigmented so very little needs to be used each time.
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 15 Fair- I bought my first tube over two years ago and used it till the last drop. It was only recently that I finally picked up another one and it is still one of the best I've ever found in the drugstore! It has really nice coverage but at the same time isn't cakey and really brightens for my under eye area.
Urban Decays' Naked Pallette- This pallette has been in my collection for ages. I'm sure I've mentioned it before but it really is my go to pallette for many of my daily makeup looks and for my clients as well. With it's great shade range offering both lights, darks, shimmery shades and matte ones it makes for a really useful eyeshadow pallette.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Covet Waterproof Eyeliner in "Vert"- I started using this at the beginning of this month and it has been involved in so many of my looks since. I like that it is completely waterproof and has great pigmentation. I also enjoy not having to sharpen it constantly as it comes in twist up form.
Maybelline Falsies Flared Waterproof Mascara in Black- I'll be honest nothing really beats my all time favorite: the LORAC multiplex 3D Lashes Mascara but as I save that one for special occasions when I really want my lashes to stand out, this new one has become my new mascara for every day. Although it's not quite as good as that one it is the best I've found recently for my every day looks. I like that it's very black, waterproof and doesn't flake!
General Beauty Items:
Palmer's Shea Butter Moisturizer- In the winter time my hands tend to get very dry and uncomfortable so I like to keep a good hand moisturizer around. I have found cocoa butter to be a great product in itself but this mini version with it's shea butter formula is the perfect fix for my dry hands and I like to apply it both in the morning when I wake up and then at night before I go to sleep.
Maybelline Clean Express Eye Makeup Remover-I've had a rough time with eye makeup removers in the past few months and had almost given up on drugstore eye makeup removers entirely until I tried this one. It is pretty similar to my other favorite- the Sonia Kashuk Remove one and it removes my eye makeup with ease. No rubbing on the gentle area of the eye to get the job done. The only thing that concerns me at all is that it seems to run out pretty quickly.
Freeman Peppermint + Plum Foot Lotion- Winter seems to dehydrate my entire body including my hands, lips and face but one thing that really annoys me is when I have dry peeling feet and so I went on the search for a good foot lotion at the beginning of the winter. The real reason I even picked it up was that the scent sounded amazing- which it is and how about that cute foot packaging? It also really keeps my feet soft and smooth. I apply it every night after my showers just before putting my socks on.
Aveeno Ultra Calming Daily Moisturizer SPF 15- I've mentioned this moisturizer before a couple of times. It is a part of my daily skin care routine that is extremely crucial! I am happy with the nice hydrating feeling it gives my face and neck and I like that it contains a SPF 15 which is extremely important to me all year round.
Miss Dior Cherie Perfume- My friend gave this to me as a gift after I had my son along with a scented body lotion which I thought was super thoughtful and sweet of her. It have used it on and off for 3 years and have noticed myself gravitating towards it loads this month. It has a fresh floral scent which is very much what I go for with my perfumes.
Opi "Golden Eye" Nail Polish- As soon as I saw Opi's collection for this Winter , this one caught my eye as I had not yet owned a gold metallic glitter polish before. It was sold out everywhere so I ended up purchasing it from Amazon and have worn it in all sorts of ways ever since it arrived. I have worn it all over my nails and have used it to create designs on my nails as well. The thing I am most impressed with is it's lasting power.
