Makeup Product Review: Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

The Maybelline Fit Me Concealer .23 fl oz $4.99-$6.49 is described as " Concealer that goes beyond matching to fresh natural coverage allowing the skin to breathe.

I've known about what a great concealer this one is ever since Maybelline first released it over a year ago. I remember the details of this purchase vividly though like it was yesterday. It's no secret that Wal Mart has some of the best prices in their makeup department. It's so sad that the closest one is about an hour away from me- close to my parents house. So anyways we had spent a good amount of time at my parents house over that weekend and on our way out we stopped at Wal Mart for a bit. Of course I made a beeline for the makeup area. My previous concealer was on it's last leg and so that was the first thing I searched for. I had never been too impressed with the face products I tried from the Maybelline line and so I almost skipped right over this one. I think the real reason I even got sucked into buying it was because of the mind blowing price. Either way I am happy I decided on it because it's one of my favorite concealers until today. After running out of it that first time I went on to try others from different companies but always kept this one in the back of my mind. Recently I was on the search for a good concealer again and decided to get myself another tube while at the drugstore for some vitamins. I can't believe I have never mentioned this product on the blog before, if you haven't tried it yet then I definitely recommend as I think it's a good buy.

Here's some more details:

Coverage and Finish: It's characterized with a nice medium coverage and a satin finish which is pretty fantastic for a liquid concealer.

Formulation: It has a super creamy consistency which blends wonderfully into the skin and doesn't cake or sit in fine lines at all even after using a setting powder over top of it which makes it great for use in the under eye area and inner corners of the eye. It covers any dark areas and helps highlight my under eyes so that they appear brighter making me seem more awake. I have also used it on the areas where I have hyper pigmentation- on my cheeks, chin and around the corners of my nose when I'm not wearing a full coverage foundation. And if the rare spot shows up I use it for that area as well. It reminds me quite a bit of Mac Moisture Cover Concealer in it's feel.

Color Variations: with just 6 different shade options available it's a very limited range especially when it comes to catering the darker skin tones which is sort of disappointing. I'm glad that the one I have in the Shade 15 Fair really does match me perfectly though.

Lasting Power: It holds up pretty well throughout the day lasting about 6-7 hours on my under eye area depending what base I'm wearing whether or not I use a primer underneath and if I set with powder. The product itself will last in your collection for a couple of months easily since you literally just need a dot under each eye to get the basic coverage needed. I think mine lasted about 2 months even with using it every day and that's pretty decent.

Packaging- The packaging is nothing special with it's simple standard design. The doe-foot applicator makes it easy to get into tiny corners and conceal blemishes as it only applies a small amount of product and then you can build it up if you need to. The tube itself is thin and  light so it doesn't take up too much space and it's easy to travel with.

Price- $4-$6 which is pretty amazing- what more can I say?

Scent? I've heard about it having a slight chemical smell but I haven't noticed it at all

Sensitivity: It's supposed to be non-comedogenic, dermatologist-tested, ophthalmologist-tested and fragrance-free. I didn't notice any weird reactions but then again I'm not highly sensitive either.

Application Tip: Dot concealer onto imperfections or under eyes and pat with a finger or brush to blend into place.

Overall: This is the best concealer I've ever tried from the drugstore and I've tried many. I like how smoothly it goes on and the way it covers and highlights what I would like it to while lasting me throughout the day. It's too bad that there isn't a larger shade range available! But I will definitely repurchase again like I've already done.

The Swatch.
