Makeup Product Review: Revlon Grow Luscious Waterproof Mascara + Photos

Mascara is one item that I feel my makeup routine would just not be complete without. A good one can help my short straight lashes look alot more defined, thicker and curled. Plus it can lift my lashes making me seem more awake.

What Revlon says about their mascara: "Get lashes that not only look instantly longer and lusher, they will also become stronger day after day. Lash enhancing formula improves lashes overall appearance and condition with each use"

I haven't quite finished my favorite LORAC mascara yet. I saw this at my last trip to the drugstore and being that there was a buy one get one 50% off for Revlon at that time and I was already planning on purchasing the colorstay whipped mousse foundation I just couldn't resist. I hadn't even read up on it to be honest and had never even tried a mascara by Revlon yet so it was probably a little bit of an impulse buy but Revlon barely ever disappoints me so I wasn't too worried.

The Details:

Color: 002 Black is in fact super black.

The Brush: I find I like a thinner plastic comb brush like the one on my LORAC mascara alot better then this larger bristle brush for my day to day looks. But still it does a nice job of brushing through them and lengthening a bit.

Formulation: I usually go for wetter formulas. This one is a little bit of a drier one and does begin to flake off a bit towards the end of the day. The good thing is that it does separate the lashes and doesn't clump or smudge.

Wear: It holds up really well all day but it isn't too difficult to remove with a good makeup remover even with it's waterproof quality.

On my lashes: It doesn't give me alot of volume, curl or length which is what my short straight lashes really need but does hold pretty true to it's claims doing a good job of conditioning them and enhancing them to make them seem a little longer when I combine it with another mascara.

Overall:

Although this mascara doesn't give me amazing glamorous lashes it is good enough for my every day looks. Either way, I don't see myself repurchasing since I don't really like a dry formula and it doesn't give me much volume or curl.
