Makeup Product Review: Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner and Brush Set

Time for the next installment of my Smashbox products review series. This one is all about an amazing new product that was just introduced in their new Be Discovered Line for Spring 2012. And the product is: Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner and Brush Set.

Eyeliner can be very tricky to apply when you are newer at it. Once you get comfortable it'll come easy though. Gel liner is one of the best eyeliner types. It comes in a little glass pot in most cases and holds alot more product then any eyeliner pencils will give you. It can be used for many different looks and when practiced with can be easy to apply. Some of the best out there that I've tried are from maybelline and mac, and I have yet to try the bobbie brown ones but I hear they are great too.

When I heard about this new gel liner I knew I would have to try it out. Which is what I did and I have to say I was not let down.

What is this gel liner formulated to do?

Smashbox says: "Up the drama with this innovative gel-based waterproof formula that glides on easily and dries to a budge-proof finish. Long-wearing and formulated without parabens, this liner is safe for use on the inner rim.

So if I love the maybelline and mac gel liners why am all excited about this one:

1) Smashbox wasn't kidding! This gel liner is waterproof! I was out in the wind today with it on and tears were streaming down my face and this liner didn't budge!

2) It goes on smoothly and is easily removed from the pot with a brush. A little goes a long way as well.

3) It lasted me all day long...and I really can't say that for all the eyeliners in my collection.

4) It comes with a cute little brush which is made perfectly to get that nice wing and to glide it along the lash line smoothly.

5) I wore it on my upper and lower lash line. I have extremely sensitive eyes so I have to be really careful what I put on my lower lash line and waterline. This one did not irritate at all so it seems to be formulated well in that way.

6) I was very impressed with the intensity of the color. Alot of gel liners can look darker in the packaging then they actually are once applied. This one can be applied in one layer and already be the perfect color. Also I noticed that it has the smallest amount of sparkle to it which is very nice.

7) The price is pretty decent.

There are a couple of things I am a little disappointed about with this product and those are:

1) These gel liners come in only 2 shades: black and brown- boring! Although those are the typical colors that most people wear they should really have more of a shade selection. I hope that smashbox will eventually add more colors for these liners.

2) I feel like it's alot smaller then most of my gel liners from other company's, meaning less product. But I may be mistaken and only time will tell and I will see how long it lasts. And like I said before a little goes a long way with this one so it may last a while regardless.

As you can see I have already used it- so you can see my brushmarks

How to apply: put the brush into the pot of gel liner and run it through the product gently. Then glide the brush along the upper and lower lash line smoothly as you would with a pencil or liquid. Short strokes will give you the best thinnest line possible.

I am sure you will all really like this gel eyeliner as much as I do!
