Saucy Spaghetti and Franks (with a cute spin)

Threading pasta through hot dogs and then cooking them...I would never have thought it up on my own. But what a cool idea! I saw a similar picture of it being done on pinterest which gave me the inspiration for this recipe. I would love to give some credit to the one who thought of it but for some reason I cannot find the picture or it's source anywhere.

I am always in search of dinner ideas that will work well for kids. This one is great for picky eaters!

And the recipe:

-1 Package Cocktail Franks
-1 lb Spaghetti pasta
-A little Oil for Frying
-1 Medium Onion, Chopped Up
-2 Tablespoons Ketchup
-1 Tablespoon Chili Sauce
1/2 Tablespoon Raspberry Jam
1 Tablespoon Gefen BBQ Sauce (I used Onion Flavor)
-1 Tsp Garlic Powder and Chili Powder
Pinch Salt and Pepper
-1 Tsp Red Wine Vinegar
-1 1/2 Cups Water

Saute onion with some oil in a non stick frying pan. While onion is browning in pan, begin threading spaghetti through the franks.Take a piece of raw spaghetti and stick it through one side of the mini hot dog and through the other side. Then take another and stick it through the hot dog about an inch from the first piece. Stick about 3-5 pieces into each mini hot dog. Lay them on a plate to the side while you prepare the sauce.

Add Ketchup, Chili Sauce, BBQ sauce, Raspberry Jam, Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder, Chili Powder, Red Wine Vinegar and 1 Cup of water to the pan with the onions. Bring Sauce to a boil and add in franks with one end leaning in.

Once pasta is a little cooked on one side the rest will fall in as you mix it around. Let pasta threaded franks cook in sauce for about 25 minutes. Add the rest of the water about half way through. Once everything is cooked it's ready to be served. I removed it from the pan with a slotted spoon because I don't like it quite as saucy. But you can serve it with sauce in pan if you would like.
