Crock Pot Beef Boneless Spare Ribs

I never cook anything in the crock pot besides for Cholent for Shabbos. I don't know why. Perhaps it's because I usually have time to prepare recipes that are harder to prepare. I made a crock pot dinner last night for the first time and I know now that I will be doing that more often! I made plans to spend some time with a close friend and I knew that meant I wouldn't have much time to prepare a really intricate dinner. Apparently crock pot dinners are all the rave and I figured it wouldn't hurt to try. I  great part is that I put it up in the early afternoon and it was ready by dinner time. And apparently it was really an awesome dinner! I didn't taste it but while I was out with my friend my husband texted me saying the dinner was amazing and that the meat was just falling apart and delicious. I'm glad he sent me a picture of it for the blog before finishing it! I was excited that the meat was that good since for me getting a piece of meat soft is a challenge.

Here's the recipe:

1 Large Package Boneless Spare Ribs
2 Cups of Water
A little Oil for browning the meat
1 Tsp Chili Powder
1 Tablespoon Steak Spice
1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
A little Salt and Pepper to taste
3 Tablespoons Chili Sauce
3 Tablespoons Gefen Onion BBQ Sauce
1 Tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil

Heat the crock pot on highest heat- 500. Place all ingredients besides for the meat and the oil to brown it into the crock pot. Meanwhile put the oil in a non stick frying  pan and brown the meat on all sides. Then put them in with the rest of the ingredients in the crock pot and let it cook for 3-4 hours. That's it! How simple?

what's your favorite crock pot dinner?
The mashed potatoes will be posted at a later time so check back for that!
